My friends and I celebrated my 31st birthday at The Dome during the first weekend of December. We couldn't have asked for a better retreat where we could cozy up and play games, use the hottub, and take in some much needed r&r. To say this cabin was the definition of relaxation would be an understatement. It also had everything we needed to cook our meals and make ourselves at home. We all agreed we will make an annual trip up to Idyllwild and wouldn't think of staying elsewhere.
We had a wonderful time even though it was really hot. We enjoyed two long hikes and lots of great meals out.
My wife and I need a remote, relaxing and romantic place to spend our 30 Year wedding anniversary- boy did we find it! The deck at night surrounded by stars and soaking in the tub was .....dreamy!
We decided to rent a house to invite a few friends to spend the weekend with us and do an intimate wedding ceremony. The house was just beyond perfect! Super clean, cozy and comfortable for us and our 8 friends. We did the ceremony during the sunset at the deck and the view was breathtaking! I would recommend this house to everyone that wants to enjoy nature and escape from the daily routine, is the perfect getaway to spend with friends or family.
We have been vacationing at Lilly Rock Lodge for about 5 Years. We love the tasteful rustic cabin decor, the open floor plan which allows for comfortable family gatherings. We love everything - pool table, games, jacuzzi, outdoor deck ,multiple window views of Lilly rock and surrounding Mountains. The kitchen has all the necessary cookware to cook a family meal. Thank you for continuing to provide an awesome experience. The Spirit rental company was excellent providing the information we needed for an awesome stay.
Perfect place for a quick getaway. Property is near trailheads and stays cool because of the tree cover. The view from the deck and master bedroom is beautiful.
Upper Rim Rock is exactly as photographed, beautifully appointed, quiet, equally secluded and convenient. As much as it is close to other homes when you are in it you don't really see any other homes so you feel like you have privacy. The views from the master are incredible, the picture window are truly magnificent both in daytime and night. The home is on the darker side but that adds to the 'cabin in the woods' feeling. The home had games, movies, and plush towels and generally felt very homey for a quick getaway. Monica and Niki from New Spirit were very friendly and helpful. Idyllwild is a lovely, sleepy town. We appreciated Niki's recommendation to try the Town Baker, delicious food, friendly people.
Great, eclectic rental with lots of outdoor space. The staff at New Spirit was helpful and cheery!

My husband and I really enjoyed our 3 night stay in this quiet comfy cabin with views of cedar trees out all the windows. The bed and couch were comfortable and we slept great every night. The kitchen was fully equipped with lots of small appliances as well which we appreciate as we cooked a few times. The stove, toilet and refrigerator seemed quite new. The cabin was clean when we arrived and the heat was on so it felt welcoming right away. The cabin reminded me of a place I used to stay in as a kid with my family. The property management company kept us well informed and we had an easy check in and out. We would definitely consider staying here again in the future.
Lovely quaint cabin just outside of town. Very clean and well laid out. And Nickie and Monica - always the best team to work with.
We had 3 lovely days in Idyllwild to hike, explore, shop and snuggle. No snow, but chilly and the comfortable beds and awesome heater made nights cozy and comfortable. The location of the property makes for an easy, short drive, or walk to town. Yet distanced enough to be private and off the beaten path, and quiet. The design of the home provides lots of privacy too, with bedrooms on either end. We loved the extra dining space and used the big table to start a puzzle. The cabin felt like a home with all the amenities, thoughtful touches, and mountain decor. We will return and I would highly recommend the property and management staff to friends. New Spirit staff were helpful and kind. We enjoyed great pizza at Idyllwild pizza, enjoyed the brewery food and drink, Red Kettle did not disappoint, and have a small addition to the chocolate at El Buen Cacao.
Great Cabin - Lots of room and easy walk to town / big yard. Only thing I'd note is while the backyard is fenced in, if you have a smaller dog, not sure the fence would keep them in, and there was one place we had to move some stuff to block a missing section of fence. Not an issue with our St. Bernard though (who liked the cabin and yard as well) and is just way too big and clumsy to escape.
Fully stocked kitchen. The hot tub was perfect. We also loved the fireplace . 2 private bedrooms and 3rd room is up in the loft with 2 twin and 1 full beds. Would definitely stay here again.
Sky Rock Lodge was a delightful and cozy cabin retreat. Ample space for the four of us, lovely fireplace, windows to enjoy the outside snow, space for games, great kitchen, private master bedrooms and an unbeatable loft bedroom. Although we had extra beds and could have taken one of the masters, three of us chose to share the cozy loft! Management went above and beyond servicing us... kudos to each of them, thank you!
We were in town to visit family in nearby Indian Wells.Condo was very clean and well laid out and furnished. As it was end of April things were quiet in the transition from winter to summer heat. Pool was just across the very lightly traveled road and well maintained as was the whole property and the rental itself. We'd be happy to stay here again.
it was perfect plenty of room, beautiful views, clean and useable. We all loved it.
First off the house is very clean and comfortable. The location is walking distance to town center, however, with warm temps we were content to drive around the area. The favorite part of the house were the good size bedrooms separated by living area giving two couples privacy. With four cooks in the upgraded spacious kitchen we enjoyed sharing the cooking space. Also, we did use the grill and it worked nicely! Happy Hour on the patio with many different types of birds and the squirrels was entertaining.
Perfect for 7 adults and 2 kids. Extremely well equipped, roomy, and comfortable. It was close to own. We come not have had a better home. Thank you NewSpirit!
We loved three gazing stars because we could walk to town . The driveway was not too steep so we were able to walk up and down without problems. Looking forward to go back
The house was beautiful! Very well stocked kitchen, and all the amenities we needed. The views from the deck were just spectacular, and the house was very clean. The property management was really great. Super fast to answer any questions we had.
This is a great location. Plenty of walking from the doorstep , close to town, private , good views. Big Living Room windows to enjoy the trees and view. Enjoyed coffee on the deck. Beds comfortable . Kitchen well stocked . New Spirit good to work with .
As soon as approaching Crestview, front outlay of the cabin is very warm and welcoming. As soon as walking inside, your presented with ample wide living room that is very beautiful and esthetically pleasing and stress free. Big ample kitchen to cook and host friends and families and not to mention warm heating to counter the cold �� overall, my family and I were very pleased with crestview lodge!
This was a great place to stay after having proposed to my new fiancee on top of Tahquitz. It was clean and cozy had a very nice master bedroom and bathroom arrangement. The fireplace and jacuzzi were both wonderful for relaxing after our climb. I would recommend this place to others.
We had a great stay! The house is well kept and clean and spacious. There was a foot of snow on the ground when we arrived and it made for a perfect vacation.
The house was unique, big and very clean. Great location and 1/2 mile walk to town in the snow was fun!
My husband and I loved our stay. It was the perfect little cottage for two. The room was clean and had everything we needed. A mini fridge, hot plate, and utensils. Plenty of towels and an A/C unit inside. The hot tub was so great to have and made the stay extra special. The front desk service at check in and out was great too and they were very accommodating when we had trouble figuring out the outside lights for the hot tub. The place is also walking distance to the town which was an added bonus. Would come back for a quiet little get away again!
Property is small but not tiny. It will be OK for a couple and feels very cozy. The private backyard isn't much, but the spa is spectacular, especially at night. The property is in a shared area with another house, so parking might be tricky if the other house has more than a couple vehicles. Just a few minutes walk from the main town area and great for star gazing or just generally relaxing.
We loved our long weekend in Idyllwild at Golden Sunshine. This is a very charming, welcoming home with everything you need for a relaxing weekend in the woods. The kitchen was well-equipped for cooking great meals, the living spaces were great for playing games, watching movies and hanging out with friends. We spent some time playing games on the deck and would have loved a few more adirondack chairs for watching the sunset, but other than that we had the best time. Would recommend for couples and families looking for a spacious home in a relaxing environment with excellent views. Also, an easy 7 min drive to town for food and amenities.
Our time at Golden Sunshine was magical. I t is a peaceful place perched on top of the mountainside. We sat on the wonderful wrap around deck and watched the sunset. We were there for a brief time but felt as if we got a lovely respite which renew and reentered us. Thank you for all that the New spirit star did to make our stay so great.
Nice place for peace & quiet. Comfortable beds, a lot of areas for family. Close to town. Nice hot tub. I'd book again.
I gathered some friends together (10) for a birthday stay with me as a cabin retreat from the city. It was exactly what we expected it to be and a wonderful home base for us all.
This is my second time staying in this house and I plan to keep up the tradition! I absolutely love this house, it is amazing.
This rental made for a perfect weekend getaway. It was a cozy cabin with plenty of room for our guests. The deck and view in the photos do not disappoint. We had bright sunrise for coffee each morning and cool sky colors each evening.
We had a wonderful time at The Pinnacle for four nights in late June, and enjoyed some local hikes in the area and general relaxation. There were only five of us with two small dogs, so there was plenty of space to spread out. We’d come back again in a heartbeat!
Plenty of space for our family of five and super clean. Amazing views! Awesome location! Close to restaurants, shopping, snowboarding, and snow tubing! We’ll be back. Thanks!
My family and I had a great 4 day stay here in July. There is no AC so it was uncomfortable for 1 of those days as we were having record breaking temperatures. The cabin was clean and the surroundings were very quite and peaceful. The hot tub was nice and ready to go when we arrived. The rooms in the loft upstairs were comfortable but recommended for kids as the stairs are a bit steep going up and down and the bathroom is more fashioned for short people. There is also no doors dividing the two rooms upstairs, its open space.
Over all we had a very nice stay. There are some fans in the cabin but I recommend avoiding this location during the peak of summer.
It was simply fantastic! I work 11 hours a day, 5 days a week and occasional Saturdays and Sundays. Needless to say it was a much needed rest for me. To be one with Mother Nature was fantastic. The accommodations provided everything we needed. We will certainly book again direct (New Spirit) this time to save added charges.
Stayed here for a quick weekend getaway. The moment you walk in you are blown away by the view. It gets even better when you walk up to the master bedroom. Definitely coming back. The house is a little old, but everything works great.

We had a wonderful and relaxing time at this quiet and cozy cabin. The garden was perfect for our dogs to run around and the shady backyard was also a great place for our young children to explore.
We got lost because we didnt follow staff instructions ��♀️ but after finding the home we were over the moon with this house!! Has a well stocked game room which served us well as I have children, I HARDLY SAW THEM ALL WEEKEND!!!! Talk about a VACATION ��. The upstairs living area has a beautiful LARGE sectional and VIDEO GAMES!!! Hardly saw my husband all weekend: SCORE!!! jk, the house is well stocked and beautiful. The views were amazing, although finding it was a bit of a mission but totally worth it! One thing though, on our last day my daughter found herself face to face with a small mouse. I spoke with the management company and suggested they move the location on their trashcans as it came in through where those cans are. Overall, AWESOME HOUSE, would consider going back if the EXTRA guest isnt occupying it, ha ha ha.
We loved this home. My husband and I both needed a getaway from the city, and it was so beautiful and serene. This house is an absolute dream home, beautiful architecture, stunning view, incredible deck, and still cozy and comfortable. We'd love to stay there again.
This was our first time renting through New Spirit Vacation Homes, although we've stayed in Idyllwild for years now. It was easily one of the best experiences with using a local vacation rental business. They were very accommodating and friendly throughout our stay. I also they think they have a great selection of cabins to choose from and I can't wait to experience another one!
The Lazy Bear was adorable, full of special touches and vintage charm. The bed was super comfortable and I slept great. The kitchen actually had nice cookware and knives! What a surprise! We had no problem cooking all of our meals. We truly enjoyed the ambiance of the cabin between the great fireplace, comfortable furniture, and outdoor space.
Perfect location, beautiful views, fun yard for the pups. It was super simple to rent, had everything we could of asked for. Perfect.
